A tight space with a tight budget and a real challenge to create a bar and restaurant in this concrete shell. We kept it simple and uncluttered, working with the concrete, giving the walls special paint finishes to resemble leather and soft red velvet, but keeping as much concrete exposed as possible.

All units were made to order including cast concrete sink tops, a low lit bar and the loo area, which was based on those in aircraft with aluminium doors made from warehouse space dividers.
Key finishes were raw concrete, black mild steel, specialist plasters and paint finishes, a resin floor straight over the rough concrete.

The frontage was completely red, with a concrete cross, and the back entrance reflected the front, but with a thin red line across the window.

A Wingate and Moon project.
