It is not often that you get the chance to do such a wonderfully complex job like this pod at Paddington Station for Flowerstore.
The units were designed to lock into themselves with the bulk of the stock and all the necessary equipment staying secure within the chilled unit, reducing the need to transport stock and kit at the beginning and end of the day, as most flower vendors still do.
The client, Amala Shah, wanted the unit designed along feng shui principles and Ken Wingate remembers meetings over fish and chips with the feng shui advisor.

Amala had been inspired by seeing chilled stock areas in Amsterdam and asked Ken Wingate to include this idea in the design.
The pod incorporated lighting, running water, air conditioning for the flowers, a till, all the preparation equipment and wrapping and binding kit. A lovely project for a great client.
